You are in for such a treat today with this enchanted forest wedding weekend that was featured in JuneBug. Joanna and Chris decided to embrace doing things their own way instead of keeping things traditional. They planned a whole wedding weekend for their guests. Inspired by the beauty of their venue, they created a weekend to reflect the way they felt on the grounds of Lundy Farm.
Their wedding was the first time their families met, so planning bonding activities was important to them. The weekend opened with a movie night under the stars and continued with an assortment of outdoor activities guests could choose from including hiking, enjoying the sauna, or swimming nearby. Staying true to creating a unique experience, they chose a location for their ceremony in an area of the cedar forest that no one has used this way before. It was such a beautiful area surrounded by ethereal trees, and they created a ceremony space with an asymmetrical arch. Everything was kept intimate, with a close friend officiating the wedding and their nephew as the flower boy.
Following the ceremony, guests joined the couple under arched twinkle lights for their family dinner. Keeping with the family reunion feel, they sat at one long table as they were served a meal of nine courses. Chris and Joanna had a strong emphasis on food throughout the weekend, with a private chef curating meals for guests and accommodating their dietary needs. During the reception, they also enjoyed a beautiful cake.
The following day, they closed out their enchanted forest wedding weekend with a Mediterranean lamb meal. Guests gathered for games on the lawn, a tap truck, and dinner prepared by their private chef. They finished out their perfect weekend with s’mores around the fire.
