Taelor and Ian came from Chicago to have their intimate estate ceremony at Rokeby. The estate is managed by Ian’s godfather and was the perfect place for their big day. Though all of the details they chose for their wedding were simple, it felt very refined when they were all pulled together.
The day started with Taelor and Ian getting ready on their own and with their daughter. She spent time with each of them as they got ready, but she got dressed with her dad. We got some really sweet photos of him helping her get ready for the day.
The ceremony was held on the patio of the estate. Guests sat on wrought iron chairs as the couple stood at a wooden arch decorated with florals. The ornate columns were more than enough decoration for the space.
Portraits were so much fun on the incredible estate. It was a pretty overcast day, which added a lot of personality to the photos we took together. Walking around the grounds, we found so many great places to take pictures, including the expansive lawn, the ornate edifice of the building, and especially the rooms inside the estate. Taelor and Ian’s favorite part of the property was the library. It was truly a hidden gem filled with antique books and curiosities. We spent a lot of time in there, exploring and documenting their love.
The day was simple in the best way. They chose a beautiful location and allowed that beauty to shine. I love that I have the opportunity to be a part of such a special time for people. This intimate estate wedding was such a simple expression of love. As a New York wedding photographer, I am so grateful for the couples who invite me to celebrate with them. If you are planning your upcoming wedding, I would love the opportunity to celebrate with you, too! Reach out, and let’s get something booked!
