Oscar and Sarah’s intimate spiritual ceremony felt really special. They got married at an estate in New York and sprinkled their day with touches of their faith, which is really important to them. They were, of course, surrounded by all of their closest friends and family for the most incredible day.
I loved how vibrant their color palette was for the day and how incredible it looked. They included warm colors like marigold, burnt orange, and camel. Even their florals had a muted quality, with eucalyptus and wheat included in the arrangements. The feel of the day was very elegant yet casual, and it felt really comfortable.
The couple started the day, each getting ready with their attendants. The bridesmaids had matching pajamas to wear as they all got hair and makeup done. Their dresses were all different, but worked well together. Not only were they all different colors that matched the overall palette, but they were all different styles that matched each bridesmaid and helped them to feel comfortable throughout the day. The mixing and matching gave them an eclectic feel while still being coordinated for the wedding.
While the bridesmaids were getting ready, the groomsmen were getting Oscar ready for his big day, too. They donned crisp, white shirts with matching camel-colored pants and floral ties. Oscar stood out with his navy blazer.
The outdoor ceremony was so beautiful and thoughtfully included important pieces of their spirituality. Honored guests and the bridal party made their entrance down incredibly gorgeous stone stairs decorated with white candles and surrounded by a lush landscape. Guests sat on chairs facing the bride and groom, who were situated in front of a wooded area. Nature around them was all the decor they needed! A really touching moment during the ceremony was when family members surrounded them and placed hands on the couple as they prayed for them.
The grounds had some really incredible outdoor spaces for portraits. I love that we had the opportunity to capture so many different looks in the same location. I played around with the lighting, and we got some really cool moody shots in the forest. We also got some more formal shots around the house and balconies at the estate.
Once the portraits were through, we headed to the reception. There was such a cozy feel under the tent on the lawn. I loved their mug wall as a unique way to get people something to drink out of and a favor to take home with them! It was so clear that the family and friends were all so close with each other, and it was truly a celebration of love and friendship.
Thank you, Oscar and Sarah, for allowing me to be a part of your intimate spiritual ceremony. It was such an honor to capture your most special moments on this day!
