Today I’m bringing you Kat and Nich’s moody autumn ceremony. They got exactly what they envisioned for their wedding, and it was just perfect. You could feel love in the air, and they captured dark, fall vibes for their day.

The day started with each of them getting ready separately and then meeting for a first look. Nich kept things classic with a black suit and crisp white shirt but added personality with high-water slacks and a chunky black shoe. He accented his look with a red tie with white flowers and a matching pocket square. Kat wore a white lace dress with a sweetheart neckline and sheer off-the-shoulder sleeves. It had a short train and an embellished, thin belt. She paired it with a bold, dark lip and a white block heel. Her hair was loose and wavy, with the sides pulled back and out of her face.

Their first look was outside the cute, blue Elm Rock Inn. Kat came out of the door to meet Nich who was waiting on the brick walkway for her. It is always so special to be a part of the moment a couple first sees each other in their wedding attire. It is often emotional, and I am so grateful to be a witness!

We took the opportunity after their first look to get some couple’s photos in. The weather got the memo about the moody autumn ceremony and cooperated with gloomy skies and some rain. Kat held her beautiful bouquet during portraits, and it was full of dark red, tan, and white flowers.

It was on to the ceremony after portraits. They exchanged vows outside in a covered area while guests sat on wooden benches. Their decor included lanterns and pumpkins atop barrels. A special moment in their ceremony was when they had their hands tied together as a symbol of their union. It was unique and emotional. Their love for each other was evident all day, but especially during their wedding. Their quiet but soulful energy was really beautiful to witness. You could tell how they felt about each other just by watching the way they looked at one another. It was truly beautiful.

I had such a great time at this moody autumn ceremony, and I am so honored to have been able to capture such special memories for Kat and Nich. If you are planning an upcoming wedding, I would love to help you document those important moments, too. Reach out, and let’s get something booked
